Griffin Daily News

In 2016, the Flint River Regional Library received funds from the Spalding County SPLOST fund to digitize local newspapers. We are happy to announce the completion of Phase 2 of the Georgia Historic Newspapers Archive project. This phase included the digitization of 16,878 newspaper issues from Spalding County, from 1888-1977. More specifically, patrons now have access to issues of the Griffin Daily News spanning from 1924-1977. *Please note that gaps in this collection’s coverage represent issues that are unavailable due to copyright issues or poor quality print/microfilm.

Apply for a Library Card

PINES library cards are free for all Georgia residents. You must present a valid photo ID showing current Georgia address. A parent or legal guardian must be present to register a child under 18.  There is no longer a charge to replace a lost or stolen card.  A card is not required to attend programs or visit the library, however, you must have your card or show your card on the PINES app to check out items.

You can also apply for a PINES e-card online! Click here to fill out the form.

An e-card provides immediate access to your library’s online resources, including our digital library and learning resources. If you’d like to upgrade to a full PINES card in order to check out library books and other materials, please bring your e-card account number and your photo ID to any PINES library to complete the registration process. If you have any questions, please call your local library for assistance.
